we feature naked because almost nobody builds this way. lindsay dakota designed the first running waist band in 2014 after a run in the malibu mountains, and a decade later the product argument has not moved. no zippers, because they break. no stacked seams, because they create hot spots. no waterproof pocket, because his answer to that is a ziploc, same as every professional cyclist. every one of those decisions traces back to something he watched fail in a race.
he came out of fashion, furniture, and architecture before he came to running gear, and it shows. the whole operation runs out of two buildings on vashon island with distribution in more than 35 countries, bootstrapped the entire way.
we run in these. read the full story on lindsay, the malibu prototype, and the shoe that won every award.
